Palaeo-art workshop: Bringing dinosaurs to life!  

Art and science collide in this workshop with Palaeo-artist Celia Curtis. Recreate ancient creatures, lost worlds, and bring dinosaurs to life! Includes an art kit with Derivan watercolour pencils, paper and brushes.

Ages:   6-12. 
When:  Tuesday 19 January, 10:30am — 12:30pm or 2pm — 4pm.

Palaeo-art workshop: Bringing dinosaurs to life! (Online workshop) 

Use your imagination along with scientific evidence to become a Palaeo-artist and illustrate dinosaur discoveries form Australia and around the world in this online workshop.

Ages:   6-12. 
When:  Wednesday 20 January, 10:30am — 11:30am.

Nature Photography for Children  

Jumpstart your creativity and learn how to capture nature’s best angles in a series of fun photography challenges using your own camera, smartphone or tablet with expert Thomas Covell.

When:  Wednesday 13 January, 10:30am — 12:30pm.

Nature Photography for Teens  

After a visit to the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition for inspiration, teens will use their point-and-shoot cameras to learn tricks of the trade and practice looking at the world with an artistic eye.

Ages:   13-16. 
When:  Wednesday 13 January, 2pm — 4pm

The kids will love the Nature Photography workshops that are offered in-person and online during the summer school holidays.

Nature Photography for Children and Teens (Online workshop) 

Want to be a nature photographer or simply snap some great pics on your next family bushwalk? This interactive webinar will inspire children and teens to explore, focus, capture and share moments that have the power to stir emotion and conservation of the wonderful world around us. 

Ages:   8-16. 
When:  Online Thursday 14 January, 10:30am — 11:30am.

Prehistoric Playground

The AM has a brand-new stomping ground for dinosaur buffs. Children of all ages can help the Museum’s resident palaeontologists excavate and clean a real 75-million-year-old fossil, discover which plants and animals once inhabited a Jurassic swamp only a few hours from Sydney, colour your dinosaur and see it come to life on our 9m projection.  Learn how feathers and wings have evolved for flight by making your own aerodynamic nature objects.

When:  Open daily 10am — 4:30pm.
