Step Into the Magic of Soft Forest

Discover the wonder of Soft Forest, a captivating interactive performance designed especially for children and families.

At the heart of this enchanting experience is Fauna—a gentle, 4-metre-tall inflatable puppet born from the hidden, ancient threads of mycelium.

Neither plant nor animal, Fauna is a magical being who speaks for the trees, guiding young minds to explore the beauty and fragility of the natural world.

Step Into the Magic of Soft Forest

As Fauna roams, she brings the forest to life. A soundscape fills the air with songs sung by the trees, while a glowing swarm of fireflies illuminates her path.

Children aged 4–12 (and the young at heart) will be swept into a world of curiosity, connection, and wonder—learning the importance of protecting the environment along the way.

When & Where

Soft Forest comes to life on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 4 and 20 September with three sessions each night at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, and 7:30 pm.

The experience takes place at Paddington Reservoir Gardens, 251-255 Oxford Street, Paddington.

What You Need to Know

• Free event – no tickets required

• Best suited for children aged 4 to 12 years

• Three magical 30-minute sessions each evening

• Registration desk opens 30 minutes before each performance at the corner of Oatley Road and Oxford Street (spots for active participation are limited)

• Performances can also be enjoyed from the Oxford Street level viewing platform

• Accessible venue with dedicated car park space at Paddington Town Hall (off Oatley Road)
