Sculpture Rocks: A Free Outdoor Exhibition
- Thu May 20 - Thu Jun 03 2021
Sculpture by the Sea is coming to the city with an all-new free outdoor exhibition: Sculpture Rocks.
Adorning the stunning Sydney Harbour foreshore area between the Overseas Passenger Terminal to Hickson Reserve, along Campbells Cove, the Sculpture Rocks exhibition will showcase 18 Japanese artworks by 14 artists including Keizo Ushio, Takeshi Tanabe, Mitsuo Takeuchi, Ayako Saito and an ephemeral work by Akira Kamada.
After the COVID cancellations of 2020, the smaller scale public art exhibition in The Rocks marks the welcome return of events for art lovers, as plans for the bigger Bondi 2021 exhibition evolve.
"Bringing ‘Sculpture Rocks’ to The Rocks precinct is a great opportunity to extend the amazing breadth of art in the area and bring a little bit of the Sculpture by the Sea magic to our CBD,” Anita Mitchell, Chief Executive of Placemaking NSW said.
An indoor exhibition of small contemporary sculpture, ‘Sculpture Inside Rocks’, will also be held concurrently at Campbell’s Stores, adjacent to the exhibition and directly above the restaurants lining Campbells Cove.
Where: The Rocks, Sydney
When: 20 May – 3 June 2021
