- Step back in time to early medieval Scotland with Treasures of the Viking Age – The Galloway Hoard
- Wield Viking age weaponry in the Cabinet of Curiosities
- Climb on board the Museum’s impressive fleet of VESSELS
- Explore the captivating EXHIBITIONS, including Ultimate Depth and Shaped by the Sea
- Embark on an adventure through the GO FISH activity trail
- Chill out with a sketching activity and a screening of DEEP-SEA ROV FOOTAGE
- Take control of a remotely operated underwater drone
- Relax with books and learn to create woven fish or fabulous florals inspired by Brian Robinson’s art in the BAMAL GALLERY BOOK NOOK
New! Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard
The Maritime Museum's newest exhibition allows you to strike gold in early medieval Scotland and uncover one of the most significant Viking-age discoveries ever made. Treasures of the Viking Age – The Galloway Hoard showcases rare gold, silver, and preserved objects that reveal stories of trade, belief, and life across early Europe.
Families can explore how the hoard was discovered and what it tells us about the Viking world, with immersive displays and fascinating artefacts that bring this ancient history to life.
