Play Pod: Interactive Activity Space for Kids
- Wed Mar 07 - Sun Mar 11 2018
Welcome to the Play Pod — a life-sized ‘Rubik’s Cube’ of outdoor activation.
Modular, engaging and adaptable, each side of this moveable ‘shape-shifter’ opens up to reveal three distinct configurations; devised to house a variety of interactive, all-age activities.
The mornings are for make-believe. Designed to capture imaginations and foster learning, the Pod’s book-lined shelves invite young kids to participate in book swaps, story time, arts and crafts, and more.
It’s also where you’ll find Monkey Baa Theatre. They’ll be hosting Monkey Play and bringing Jackie French and Bruce Whatley’s “Josephine Wants to Dance” to life through storytelling and activities, 9.30am – 11am on Thursday 7, Friday 8 and Saturday 11 March.
And on Saturday 10 March, 9.30am – 11am, all kids are invited to take part in The Great Book Swap in aid of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. Just bring down a book in exchange for another for a gold coin donation. Children’s author, Gavin McCormack, will be at the Play Pod to read his books, “Are These Your Glasses?”, “Where’s My Memory?” and “Do You Mind?”.
This is an outdoor event and the programme is subject to change dependent on weather conditions.
