‘On Sharks & Humanity’ Exhibition At Australian National Maritime Museum

  • Tue Dec 11 2018 - Sun Jun 02 2019
  • All Ages
  • $0.00

Get ready to see sharks differently through this eye-opening and awe-inspiring exhibition at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

The contemporary art exhibition showcases work from some of China’s leading artists, as well as indigenous Australian artists that explore sharks as totems. There are also contributions from a leading ocean environmentalist, Valerie Taylor, who shines a light on the importance of shark protection.

She says "we kill millions of sharks every year. Today many species are under severe threat. Sharks are long-lived and slow to reproduce. When species are decimated, they are slow to recover, even when environmental action plans are in place.”

This stunning exhibition is FREE to enter and is the perfect precursor to a night spent at the waterfront bar the museum is hosting on Friday and Saturday nights throughout summer.
