Mungo Scott Centennial Celebrations
It's a weekend packed with local history at the Mungo Scott Building, celebrating the centennial of the glorious mill!
From 10 am-1 pm on Sunday 21 August, take a glimpse inside this Inner West icon and embrace the doors being open for a limited time.
Enjoy a wander through the Flour Mill Markets, then follow the sweet sounds of live music from the Spyglass Gypsies toward a morning of family-friendly activities in the Mungo Scott building, including a Clay Bakery Craft Station.
In partnership with the Ashfield & District Historical Society, the event will include a photography exhibition and the opportunity to hear stories from a former miller, Leonard Smith at 10:30 am and 11:30 am, then enjoy a wander through the space with building tours at 11:15 am and 12 pm.
Initially constructed in the early 1920s, the famous Flour Mill of Summer Hill was a fully operational milling and storage facility until 2009 when it was developed into a multi-award-winning residential community in a joint venture between E.G Funds Management and Daiwa House Australia.
Today, the precinct is home to the Little B.I.G. foundations' Little B.I.G. House, a unique and welcoming safe space where you can walk in to talk, meet, share stories and connect with your neighbours.
