With Sculpture By The Sea officially cancelled for 2021 (boo!), we need to find another way to get our outdoor sculptures in Sydney fix! Luckily, Les Sculptures Refusées has come to the rescue with their stunning outdoor sculptures exhibition that is returning for summer 2021/22.

Les Sculptures Refusées Returns for Summer 2021/22

One of Sydney's favourite outdoor exhibitions is returning for summer 2021/22 with the Les Sculptures Refusées exhibition taking centre stage at Manly's Q Station from 20 October 2021 to 27 January 2022. A day out by the water is on the cards as families get to wander along Q Station’s picturesque Pier and Quarantine Beach while viewing the impressive artworks by the Les Sculptures Refusées artists

A Little Bit About Les Sculptures Refusées

If you're not familiar with Les Sculptures Refusées, the story behind its birth is a quirky one. Artist Tania McMurtry has been a long-time admirer of the Salon de Refusés exhibition, which in French translates to 'exhibition of rejects' and is an outlet for artists whose works were rejected from the annual Archibald Prize to showcase their still impressive works. Tania McMurty and Simon Hodgson created the Les Sculptures Refusées exhibition for artists who did not make it into the popular Sculpture By The Sea exhibition to still showcase their sculptures to the public.
