Local School Festive Market ups the ante on Christmas shopping ans community fun.

Leichhardt’s most charming educational institution, Kegworth Public School, will hold its first-ever Festive Market on Saturday 3rd of December, bringing together a mixture of food, Christmas shopping, music and fun that’s as eclectic as the Inner West.

The Festive Market will feature high-quality market artisan stalls, music you’ll actually want to listen to, Christmas craft activities, and performances from students and a licensed bar to soothe parents, teachers and community members.

Picture this – you drop your kids off for Xmas cookie decoration activities run by the professional after-care wranglers at Team Kids, then get all your Xmas shopping done at 15 high-quality stalls featuring local artisans, designers and makers.

After you’ve shopped, it’s time to drop - with a glass of decent wine and a tasty treat, and kick back to the jazz stylings of the Steve Hunter Trio as well as a solo Piano performance by Tim Bruer. There’s also a rumoured special guest appearance from Santa himself, with assistance from the Inner West Fire Brigade.

The market idea started with a modest ambition - to bring the school community back together after the disruptions of COVID-19. But now we feel that it’s evolved into a unique opportunity to reach out to the entire community and forge the kinds of connections that we’ve been longing for.
