Jazz at The Lounge: Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra (SYJO) Big Band & Spectra Jazz Orchestra

Spend an evening discovering some of Australia's most talented young jazz musicians as the Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra (SYJO) Big Band and Spectra Jazz Orchestra come together for a special double bill at The Lounge.

The program brings together jazz standards with contemporary Australian works, including original compositions by members of the ensembles. Audiences will also hear music by celebrated Australian composers Judy Bailey, Ellen Kirkwood and emerging composer Katie Bombardieri.

Made up of talented young women and gender-diverse musicians, Spectra Jazz Orchestra is a 17-piece ensemble inspired by some of the world's leading jazz orchestras. Alongside the SYJO Big Band, the performance showcases the skill, creativity and passion of young musicians performing sophisticated big band repertoire.
