International Summer Dance School at The McDonald College

Embark on an enriching journey at the highly acclaimed International Summer Dance School – a dynamic 5-day program tailored for junior to pre-professional dance enthusiasts taking place at The McDonald College. 

What to Expect at International Summer School 

The comprehensive curriculum emphasises refining technique, fostering creativity, and cultivating confidence in artistry and musicality. The diverse range of classes includes Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Pointe coaching for girls, Coaching for boys, Repertoire, Musical Theatre (Juniors only), Broadway Jazz, Auditioning Technique, and Strength and Conditioning.

Genres are tailored to specific age groups, with students placed in classes according to their age and current ballet training at the discretion of the faculty and ISS Director. The unwavering focus is always on the well-being of your child, and pre-professional students are required to dance at an Elite level.

This year, the program will be welcoming esteemed instructors such as Steve Rooks from Vassar College, Clytie Campbell (Ballet Mistress at The Royal New Zealand Ballet Company), Bronte Hull (The Royal New Zealand Ballet), alongside an exceptional faculty featuring Paul Boyd from the Queensland Ballet Academy.

It promises to be an empowering and exciting experience and the perfect way to set the tone for all things dance and beyond in 2024!

Cost:        Junior ages 7 – 10: $599, Senior ages 11 – 18: $650, Pre-Professional ages 15 – 20: $650
