Gunyama Park Aquatic Centre Grand Opening

Gunyama Park, the largest aquatic centre built in Sydney since the 2000 Olympic Games, is finally ready for Sydney families to go for a splash!

When we first heard that Sydney was building a ginormous Olympic-sized pool in Green Square, we had already packed our swimmers to go for a play, but that was back in 2018 and the pool was only going to be completed in 2020! Well, things didn't exactly go according to plan and the grand opening of Gunyama Park Aquatic Centre was delayed until 2021 but the momentous occasion has finally been given a date and that is 1 February 2021!

The design of Gunyama Park pool has been inspired by Sydney’s best-loved and famous beaches, and is a 50-metre heated outdoor pool INSIDE the larger ocean pool - wow! The complex will also house a 25-metre program pool specifically for swimming lessons, indoor heated water play space and hydrotherapy pools, plus more:

• 50-metre outdoor pool with irregular shaped leisure 'beach' area
• Shading over 'beach' water area
• 25m indoor pool with moveable floor (ranges from 0-2m)
• Indoor aqua play
• Indoor hydrotherapy pool
• Fitness centre including gymnasium and fitness studios
• Consultation rooms and outdoor gym area
• Cafe
• Creche and indoor play area
• Two meeting rooms available for community use
• Changing facilities
• Multipurpose synthetic Sportsfield.
