Grafton Jacaranda Festival

Each spring, Grafton in Northern NSW becomes a breathtaking sea of purple as thousands of jacaranda trees burst into bloom.

From late October through early November, the iconic Grafton Jacaranda Festival celebrates this world-famous floral display with a mix of tradition, community spirit and modern festivities, making it one of Australia’s most-loved spring festivals.

Visitors can expect a jam-packed program of events designed to capture the magic of the jacaranda season.

Highlights include the spectacular Float Parade, featuring more than 100 floats along Prince Street, and the ever-popular Jacaranda Thursday, when the town centre comes alive with colourful costumes, street performances and family-friendly fun.

Food stalls, markets, live music, and quirky highlights like drag queen bingo add to the festival’s unique atmosphere.

Whether you’re snapping photos beneath Grafton’s stunning purple canopy, enjoying the nostalgia of the parade with a cone of purple ice cream, or joining the locals in a weekend of celebrations, the Jacaranda Festival offers the perfect excuse to experience Australia’s jacaranda capital in full bloom.
