Self Guided Walk

If you prefer to explore at your own pace, check out the themed areas at the Garden.

The Gondwana Walk is literally a journey through time, taking you under towering eucalypts and past lush rainforest plants that trace their origins to this prehistoric time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Among the species on display is the Wollemi Pine, one of the world’s rarest and oldest tree species.

Children will also be fascinated by the Bog Garden’s curious inhabitants – carnivorous plants, including the Venus Fly Trap and Pitcher Plants. Kneeling pads ensure you can get close to these insect-devouring plants, so take your time to explore and discover. Then there’s the Plant Explorer Walk, telling the stories of 14 intrepid plant hunters and their adventures.

Make it a roadtrip

Make your day unforgettable and stop in at Bilpin Fruit Bowl – depending on the season you can pick your own strawberries, fruit and vegetables with the kids.

You’ll find local honey, home-made jams, souvenirs, pottery and fruits in the shop. If you feel like settling in for a while, there’s plenty of off-road parking, undercover seating and a playground for the kids.
