- Sat Sep 26 - Sat Oct 10 2020
Update: Bondi Festival - will now be held in winter 2021. The decision follows a review of the most up-to-date advice regarding COVID-19 restrictions.
The annual Bondi Winter Magic festival that brings a bit of magic to the famous seaside spot could not go ahead this year, however it has been rescheduled and re-imagined to deliver a whole new experience to local families.
The new Bondi Festival will get a spring awakening and return for two weeks of fun between 26th September and 10th October 2020.
The all-ages festival is a celebration of arts, culture and entertainment and will bring the whole community together with a jam-packed program of mesmerising performances, hilarious shows and immersive experiences, plus an action-packed adventure zone. Local businesses will also be part of the action, transforming storefronts into temporary theatre spaces to showcase the amazing talents of visual artists.
The family-friendly entertainment hub will include the return of the beloved Bondi Vista Ferris Wheel and the launch of the brand new Bondi Roller Rink.
“It’s been a rollercoaster ride planning the Festival this year,” said co-director Phil Spencer. “Because of this new world we're living in, the shape, scale and scope of the Festival is going to be different”
“But we know that the vibrant program we're bringing together for this year will be the much-needed pick-me-up people have been craving these last few months,” added co-director Rachel Chant.
The Festival program is set to be unveiled on Wednesday 26th August.
