With Autumn comes the popular (and one of the cutest) holidays, Easter!

Are you looking for an activity for your child to do in the upcoming school holidays?

Bathurst Region Tourism have put on some egg-stra special kid’s creative workshops, activities, and the two-day Heritage Trades Trail. April is the perfect time to visit Bathurst in its impressive array of autumn colours. 

Kids Night Tour at Abercrombie House 

As part of Bathurst’s Autumn Colours Program, children aged 7+ are invited to explore the historic Scottish Baronial mansion, Abercrombie House and its gardens by torchlight with milk and cookies to finish.  

Note: children should be accompanied by an adult.

When:    13 and 20 April 2022, 10am - 12pm
Cost:      $15 per person, bookings essential through Bathurst Visitor Information Centre (1800 68 1000)

Bathurst - Heritage Trades Trail

Bathurst will celebrate over 200 years of its rich history, paying homage to the trades and traditions that have helped shape the region with the Heritage Trades Trail.

Bathurst, situated in Wiradjuri country, is Australia’s oldest inland European settlement having been established in 1815. Bathurst is the perfect mix of old and new.

With over 100 artisans exhibiting at the Bathurst Showground and Agricultural Research Station, families can witness and experience rare trades and crafts such as blacksmithing, glass artistry, whip cracking, and traditional children’s games. 

Note: Ticket costs include entry for both days. There is a free shuttle bus service running regularly between each venue.

Cost:     $15 online or $20 at the gate. Children 16 years and under free.

Green’s on William - Craft and Cookie/Cupcake Decorating

The Green's on William are welcoming all children between the ages of 4-12 years.

Activities include arts and craft, cookie decorating and cupcake decorating.

Note: Children are to bring morning tea & water bottle.

Louise's Pottery Workshops - Easter Holiday Workshops

This pottery workshop is for children aged 6 to 12yrs.

The two hour session includes pottery activities, making a mask, critters or plant pots.

Note: Kiln-firing is included in the price.

When:    6, 8, 10, 13, 15 & 17 April 2022, 10am - 12pm

Royal Bathurst Show

Boasting the best rides and amusements straight out of Sydney. The three day show features great music and family entertainment in the Family Square with free face painting and activities in the Kids Arena. 

Other highlights the kids will enjoy including the Animal Nursey, the Airtime FMX Moto-X, and fireworks.

Where:    Bathurst Showground, 28 Kendall Ave, Bathurst
When:     29 and 30 April, 9am – 10pm and 1 May, 9am – 4pm
Cost:       $13.50-$27 per person, buy tickets online. Children 6 years and under free.
