Bangarra Dance Theatre Presents The Bogong's Song: a call to Country

What guides you through the darkness when you’ve lost your way? When two siblings turn out the lights for the night, they are carried into an extraordinary dream world, where Country whispers its secrets and even a moth’s flight can light the way.

Bangarra Dance Theatre Sydney brings a brand-new creation from Yolande Brown and Chenoa Deemal to the stage, especially crafted for young theatre lovers.

The Bogong’s Song: a call to Country invites children (and their grown-ups) to listen, reflect, and discover how every part of Country - even the smallest creature - plays a vital role. As the children are swept into a world of imagination through story, dance and song, audiences are taken on a journey through a dreamscape where the past speaks through stars, trees, and grasses, creating a space for healing, connection, and gentle wonder.

Following Bangarra's huge success of the award-winning Waru – journey of the small turtle, which captivated more than 25,000 children last year, this new production features a powerful mix of movement, music, and spoken word, bringing warmth and life to this heartfelt tale.

Perfect for curious young minds ages 5+, this 55-minutes, no interval, performance is a special opportunity for children to experience and connect with First Nations storytelling in a vibrant, immersive way that inspires imagination and sparks conversation.
