From photography and illustration workshops to a visit to the Prehistoric Playground, the kids will be entertained for hours on end and will return to school with an abundance of new knowledge about nature and culture. 

Online Photography for Children and Teens

Kids aged 8-16 years can jumpstart their creativity and learn how to photograph nature's best angle at this online workshop designed for budding photographers.

Ages:   8-16 years

Primary-school aged photographers can jumpstart their creativity and learn how to capture nature's best angle at this introductory workshop designed for children aged 8-12 years.

Scientist for a Day: Malacologist (Sold Out)

In this full day workshop, kids will get the rare chance to go behind the scenes of the Australian Museum’s Malacology collection of 6.5 million mollusc specimens and discover dangerous cone shells, the ancient nautilus and Australia’s giant panda snail. 

Ages:  8-12 years
When:  14 & 15 April, 9.30am – 4pm
Cost:    Free with Creative Kids voucher or $100 per child (Members). ‎‏$125 per child (non-Members).

Ugly Animals Scientific Illustration Workshop 

Discover the art of science and explore Earth’s biodiversity in a workshop all about capturing beautiful beasts.

Early Birds Autism and Sensory Friendly Mornings (Sold out)

Early Birds provides a reduced sensory, relaxed and supportive environment prior to the Museum opening to the public for the day. This can make visiting the Museum easier for visitors on the autism spectrum or those who have other access requirements, together with their family and friends.

Ages:    All ages
When:   Saturday 10 April, 8am – 10am
Cost:    Free (additional charge applies to major exhibition)

Prehistoric Playground

Budding palaeontologists will jump back to the Age of Dinosaurs in this creative play space for kids of all ages.
