Audiobook fanatics, rejoice with me – we can now record our own voice to listen to all our favourite audiobooks!
Possibly one of the most unique events at this year’s Sydney Writers' Festival is the pop-up Audible Studio that allows users to narrate their own audiobooks. The innovative pop-up is the brainchild of Audible.com.au, the Australian arm of the world’s leading provider and producer of spoken word entertainment, and we can’t wait to get behind that mic!
Aside from being a fun and interactive way to connect with the written word as adults, The Audible Studio is also a great way for parents and grandparents to share the joys of reading to their children and grandchildren on a whole new level.
The limited pop-up event will give users and passers-by the opportunity to hear the unmistakable voices of Audible narrators, Scarlett Johansson and Stephen Fry, before giving their lungs a workout on literary classics such as Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes, Frankenstein, and Pride and Prejudice. Budding narrators will be sent an electronic copy of their handiwork once their recording is finished.
Feel like you have a unique voice? Make sure you make yourself heard, as Audible will be listening out for superstar voices to feature in an upcoming Audible Originals Production.
Get your vocal cords ready!
