Get creative these April school holidays at Penrith Regional Gallery and enjoy art making in the studio.

Workshops are inspired by the focus exhibition tactile, a vibrant and colourful exhibition that explores the sense of touch. Try your hand at sculpture, animation or drawing.

Fantasy Land Sculpture (5-9yrs): Monday 23 April; 10am-12pm
Using plaster, water, paint and all things shiny, students will create a colourful mystical landscape inspired by the artwork of Pip and Pop.

Artful Animation (9-12yrs): Tuesday 24 April; 10am-12pm - $30
Come along to our specially designed Claymation workshops using our gallery iPads. Participants will develop animation skill whilst exploring the tactile properties of clay. Animations will be emailed to participants. Don’t miss out!

Fantasy Landscapes (7-12yrs) (relaxed workshops for children with disabilities): Thursday 26 April; 10am-12pm - $25
Explore the magical wonderland of Pip and Pop these school holidays. This sensory art experience will stimulate the imagination and includes artmaking in the studios. Participants will create a textured mystical landscape using wood, newspaper, plaster and paint.

Muddle Heads Sculpture Workshop (7-11yrs): Thursday 26 April; 10am-12pm - $30
Get your hands on the soft and squishy material of clay – that’s right, use refined mud to sculpt a strange and quirky face.

Zentangle Drawing Workshop (9-12yrs): Friday 27 April; 10am-12pm - $30
Spend the morning exploring tone, line and shapes whilst developing your drawing skills. Using pencils, fineliner pens, participants will create thier own zentangle creature inspired by the textures found in the gallery.

Shake Your Tail Feather (Tots & Families): Friday 27 April; 10-11am - $12
In this workshop, children and parents will work together to reinterpret Troy Emery’s colourful sculptures to create a zany sculpture of their own using newspaper, sticks, string and feathers.

All art materials supplied, wear old clothes and bring a snack. All skill levels welcome. Suitable for 3-12 years.
