April School Holiday Fun at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney has you covered these school holidays with some great new activities like Emu Egg Explorers and Arty Farty Garden Party plus all your favourites including Botanic Beats and Garden Grubs.

Arty Farty Garden Party
Make a garden party hat, go on a scavenger hunt challenge through the Garden and do some messy paper-making to create a handmade card for mum for mothers day. Plus learn how to DIY kids lemon myrtle fruit punch! Suitable for children 6 – 12 years. All materials included.

Emu Egg Explorers
Led by Aboriginal Educators, kids will discover more about the emu and create their very own emu egg using bushcraft and natural materials. They'll then go on a fun emu egg easter hunt to track down the nest, but watch out for the mother emu! Suitable for children aged 6 - 12 years. All activity materials included, bookings essential online.

Create and Play
Rockets and sailing ships, teetering towers and snug cubbies! In the leafy shade of the Garden, kids can create their own worlds through imaginative play with a wonderful array of recycled bits and pieces. Then, led by Reverse Garbage staff, they'll construct a cool mini-hotel for garden critters to take home! Suitable for children aged 6 - 12 years. All activity materials included.

Garden Grubs
This all-day school holiday program is full of fun and adventures in the Garden. Kids spend the day exploring the garden and connecting with nature! Join in for:
- A variety of garden activities such as planting and harvesting
- Nature based art and craft
- A visit to The Calyx for inspiration
- Outdoor play and nature meditation
- A 'behind the scenes' visit to the Herbarium, Calyx, Plant Clinic, library or glasshouse
- A special 'meet and greet' with one of our scientists, botanical illustrators, wildlife and plant experts
- Garden discovery walks and stories
- Games and fun!

Botanic Beats - Garden Disco
Children will have a ball learning some funky dance moves, then enjoy a day-time disco complete with fun dance games! This program is led by experienced, vibrant dance-instructors and is designed to increase children’s confidence, fitness, coordination, self-esteem, creativity, social skills and risk-taking. Recommended for children 5 - 10 years.
