There are NEW exciting programs for the autumn school holidays at Centennial Parklands this April.

Disconnect from devices and reconnect with nature with Centennial Park’s WILD PLAY holiday programs.  Kids can get hands on in the great outdoors learning survival skills, experiencing bush school or exploring our Aboriginal history and culture. There are also plenty of indoor options to keep them entertained while learning about physics.

Shark in the Bus: Shark in a bus is a travelling museum in a 1957 Leyland Bus, featuring a 5 metres Great White Shark, whale skull, sea dragon, fossils and even pieces of US space station Skylab! Learn about plastic pollution and the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

Bush Food Hunt: Play the bush tucker campfire game and see if you can find the right plants for the right survival situation.

Bush Life: Explore Aboriginal architecture and learn how to construct a shelter with our Aboriginal educators from Shared Knowledge using natural materials from the local environment.

Make A Bag and Save The Ocean: Join Two Hands Project in this hands-on educational session on ocean pollution, recycling and reusing. Tackle the problem head on by making your own re-usable bag out of an old t-shirt!

Kids Big Fish: If you love water and fish, come to our all-time favourite Kids Big Fish where our fishing expert Tony will show you how to use a hook, line, and sinker. You will be fishing for carp in our ponds, which are large fish that are exciting to catch.
Where:   Meet at the start of Busby's Pond, Dickens Drive; look for the tall pillar with a statue on the top adjacent to the Rose Garden.

WILD PLAY Bush Rangers Shelter: Join us for a day in the wild and learn all about shelters and survival –make a shelter from all natural materials and then face the water test – will your shelter survive a downpour?
Where:   Meet at the start of Busby's Pond, Dickens Drive; look for the tall pillar with a statue on the top adjacent to the Rose Garden.

WILD PLAY Taste of Bush School: Want to see what Bush School is all about? Join in the Bush School fun and explore Centennial Park’s world of water, with activities like dip netting, mini raft building and water games.

WILD PLAY Kids vs Wild - Super Shelter: Join us for 2hrs and learn how to survive the Wild and build the ultimate shelter. Have a look how the animals are doing it and of course make your own!

WILD PLAY For Families: For all parents and carers who wish to get their children outside but aren’t quite sure how to navigate and make the most of a nature play experience, this is the workshop for you.

The Great CP BAT Count: Help our Rangers find out the size of the flying-fox population. You will be in groups leaded by an expert volunteer who will show you how the bats are counted.

The Big BAT Fest: Wildlife carers will share their knowledge and show you how they look after injured and orphaned bats. We will go on a Spotlight Prowl to find more fascinating nocturnal wildlife and have some bat- tastic fun activities for the smaller bat-fans.

Obstacle Challenge: An exciting outdoor activity for young Australians to discover the importance of teamwork and mateship. In a combined effort and with the help of Education Rangers, kids will have the time of their lives building an obstacle course for other teams to scout out and venture through. They will experience an alliance with their own teammates by running, jumping and problem solving as they undergo the challenges of the other obstacle courses constructed too.
