They also host a delightful weekly nature program for children aged 2.5 - 5 years and their parents or carers. Seedlings is a hands-on learning experience, facilitated by experienced Early Years Nature Educators from the Garden, where your child will be immersed in play-based outdoor activities, games, and stories, and discover the fascinating natural world around them.

Birthday Party Venue

The Australian Botanic Garden is a popular event venue and a beautiful spot to celebrate your kid’s birthday party. Open every day of the year, the Garden features picnic areas with BBQs, a restaurant, walking tracks, and a large children’s playground.

With everything from sand pits for the little ones to a flying fox for the older kids, the Garden's Playground at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan is the perfect place for the kids to let loose. They can run wild with slides, climbing walls, swings and plenty of opportunity for nature play while parents can relax with a coffee from the restaurant right next door.

For an indoor option, the timber-clad Bowden Centre is a warm and inviting space surrounded by the serene beauty of the Cumberland Plain Woodland. The generous home-style venue includes kitchen facilities, a covered entertaining area and a long veranda that looks over the open green, offering endless possibilities for outdoor play and activities.

Opening Hours

The Garden is open every day of the year. Hours of opening are:

Autumn, Winter and Spring – 8 am to 5 pm
Summer – 8 am to 7 pm

The Gardens Café is open 8:30 am to 4 pm daily
