It’s Show Time! Melbourne Royal Show is Back This Spring

Hold onto your showbags, because the Melbourne Royal Show is back this spring, and it's bigger, brighter, and more exciting than ever!

For 11 days, from Thursday 24 September to Sunday 4 October 2026, the Melbourne Royal Show returns to transform Melbourne Showgrounds into a fun-filled playground celebrating agriculture, food, community and the best of Victoria, and packed with hundreds of free things to see and do, including rides, animals, food galore, and unforgettable entertainment for all ages.

What to Expect at the 2026 Melbourne Royal Show

It's show time! The much-loved Melbourne Royal Show is here, and there’s more to do than ever before. More to see. More to taste. More than you ever expected.

Whether you’re wide-eyed at the Sunrise Animal Nursery, watching the free entertainment, chasing the next ride, picking your showbags or indulging in Melbourne’s best bites, you’ll want more than one day to take it all in.

Showbags Extravaganza

It's not the Melbourne Royal Show without showbags, and this year the collection is epic! From classic treats like Bertie Beetle to pop culture faves like Marvel and Pokémon, there's a showbag for everyone. 

Foodie Heaven

Bring your appetite because the Melbourne Royal Show is also a feast for foodies. With gourmet street food, local produce, and pop-up restaurants, it will satisfy every craving. 

Thrill Rides and Carnival Games

Adrenaline junkies, this one's for you! The Show is famous for its heart-pounding thrill rides, with towering roller coasters, gravity-defying spins, and bumper cars galore. For the little ones, there are plenty of kiddie rides and carnival games, where you can win everything from plush toys to giant prizes.

Animal Encounters

Animal lovers, rejoice! You'll have the chance to meet cuddly farm animals, try your hand at milking a cow and test your own sheep shearing skills. Plus, don't miss the iconic competitions, from top dogs and champion horses to alpacas and the world's cutest sheep, highlighting the best of rural Australia.

Live Entertainment

The Sushi Hub Entertainment Precinct will buzz with incredible live entertainment, including freestyle motocross, PAW  Patrol and Care Bears live, and a Gabby's Dollhouse musical celebration! Plus, the nightly fireworks display will light up the arena, capping off your day at the Show in spectacular style.
