Low Sensory Sessions at Scienceworks

Join much-loved family destination Scienceworks on the first Saturday of every month for a special low-sensory session, designed for visitors who may experience sensory sensitivity.

During these sessions, a calming environment is created with quieter galleries, fewer people, and reduced sensory stimuli, providing a more comfortable experience.

Here's what you can expect during low-sensory sessions:

• Reduced sound and light levels throughout the museum
• A quieter atmosphere during your visit
• Sensory maps available upon arrival to help you plan your visit
• Access to social stories through Autism-friendly museum program

Please note that while low sensory sessions aim to provide a peaceful environment, surcharged experiences such as temporary exhibitions and Planetarium and Lightning Theatre shows remain unchanged. Additionally, while Saturday afternoons are typically quieter, Scienceworks is a popular destination and some gallery spaces may still have crowds.
