By popular demand, the Kryal Castle Unicorn Festival is returning in 2026 and bringing a swirl of colour, fantasy and family fun with it.

For one magical weekend on 28 February and 1 March, Kryal Castle will transform into a unicorn-filled wonderland where magnificent horses become mythical creatures and imagination takes centre stage. Whether you are visiting with wide-eyed little believers or simply embracing your inner child, this is your invitation to step into a world where magic reigns and get up close to these legendary creatures!

Daily Magical Activities

There is a full program of themed entertainment and interactive fun running across the festival.

• Ride a unicorn. Meet and take photos with unicorn, and secure your spot in the saddle
• Meet Kryal Castle’s fluffiest, friendliest unicorn mascots who are always ready for photos and high fives
• Add a splash of colour with unicorn-inspired braids created by talented hair artists
• Boogie to magical beats, play musical games and twirl your way through a joyful Fairy Unicorn Dance Party designed for kids who love to move.
• Transform into your favourite magical creature with Face Painting with the help of Kryal Castle’s talented face painters
• It would not be Kryal Castle without a little medieval action. During the Unicorn Championship Joust, knights mount their unicorns and charge into battle, striking with lances in a spectacle that blends fantasy and tradition in true Castle style.

Alongside the unicorn festivities, all the much-loved medieval activities will be running, including Knight School, archery and potion making. It means families can enjoy a full day of entertainment, combining mythical creatures with hands-on historical fun.

Located just outside Ballarat, Kryal Castle is one of Victoria’s most unique family attractions. During the Unicorn Festival, it becomes an immersive fantasy playground filled with roaming magical creatures, themed performances and interactive activities for all ages.
