Heide Art Babies

Bring your newborn to Heide Art Babies in Bulleen for a gentle morning of sculpture park strolling, story time, puppets and songs!

Art Babies is a weekly session at Heide Museum of Modern Art for babies from newborn up to a year old. Each 45-minute session starts in the sculpture park and moves into the gallery, where sensory play, stories, puppets and songs fill the morning.

What to Expect at Heide Art Babies

Sessions run from 10 am to 10.45 am on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 28 October and 18 December 2026. The walk through the sculpture park gives your baby fresh air and plenty to look at before you head inside, which suits a newborn who is happiest being carried.

Inside the gallery, the session moves to the floor for sensory play, so you can put your baby down on the mat and watch them reach for the toys. Story time and puppets follow. The songs finish the morning on a calm note. It's an easy outing for a parent on leave, and it lasts 45 minutes.

Bookings are strictly limited. You reserve a place through Humanitix. Admission for one adult and one child is included in the ticket price, and each additional child is $17. Members and Manningham residents pay $22 for an adult ticket, and concession holders pay $27.
