Gardens Explorer is a daily activity at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne: a 30-minute open-air minibus tour with live commentary, meeting at the Visitor Centre on Birdwood Avenue.

Gardens Explorer at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne

The minibus is open-air, so you hear the live commentary while the lawns roll past. Tours last 30 minutes, and children aged 0 to 3 don't need a ticket as long as they sit on a guardian's lap while the minibus passes the rolling lawns and living collections of the gardens. A seated half hour gives little legs a rest in a big garden!

Tours run daily from 11 am to 4.15 pm, except on Christmas Day. Bookings are essential.
