Cirque du Soleil KOOZA

The Big Top is back, Melbourne! Cirque du Soleil has rolled into Flemington Racecourse with KOOZA, a wild, funny and gasp-heavy show that brings the circus right back to its daredevil roots.

What Cirque Du Soleil KOOZA is About

KOOZA follows The Innocent, a wide-eyed character who is swept into a strange and colourful world watched over by the Trickster. From there, things get very Cirque, very quickly. There are high-wire acts, contortion, acrobatics, clowns, bold costumes and moments where the whole crowd goes quiet because someone is doing something that looks completely impossible.

This is one of those Cirque shows with a proper old-school circus heartbeat. There's slapstick, big characters, live energy and plenty of drama, but the acrobatics are the real reason to go. The Wheel of Death alone is enough to make parents grip the armrest while kids sit there wondering if humans are secretly part rubber band.

KOOZA has that rare mix of silly and spectacular, which makes it a great pick for families with kids who can sit through a full-length show. Younger viewers will love the colour, clowning and larger-than-life characters, while older kids will be all over the stunts and suspense.

Good to Know

The show runs for 125 minutes, including a 25-minute intermission. It's designed for family audiences, though parents should note there are loud noises, flashing lights and moments with low or no lighting. Children over 2 need a ticket, and prams can be brought on site but must be left outside the Big Top during the performance.
