April School Holidays at Fed Square

Running from April 9-18, the Fed Square school holiday program includes a kids-only food festival, family dance parties, paint your own skateboard decks, outdoor Studio Ghibli film screenings, live music, a comedy festival just for kids plus, so much more.

Top Picks for Free School Holiday Fun

The Little Food Festival (9–10 April): Do you have a little foodie in the family? Whet their appetites at Australia’s only food festival just for kids! Kids can roll up their sleeves with interactive workshops on bush food, plant seedlings, sustainability, gardening, and whip up something tasty too. 

Live music by Nat Bartsch (9–10 April): Pianist and composer Nat Bartsch creates music with the specific needs of neurodivergent people in mind. Enjoy this relaxed sensory concert designed specifically for neurodivergent children and their families.

Studio Ghibli Mini Film Fest (14–17 April): Enjoy daily double features of beloved animated films like Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky on the big screen. Bring your picnic rug or snag a deckchair and introduce your kids to one of the most acclaimed animation studios in the world. 

Play Date by All The Queens Men (15–17 April): Join the fun pop duo Turtle and Sugar Rush as they take you on a colourful musical adventure and interactive dance party that celebrates loving your body, your unique imagination and celebrating diverse families.

The (Very) Big Laugh Out (18 April): A huge Good Friday comedy extravaganza with family-friendly performances from top local talent including Dane Simpson, The Beryls, Josh Earl, Dandyman, Tash York, Showko, Basketballman, Clara Cupcakes, and many, many more.
