Book A Room At Highclere Castle - The Home Of Downton Abbey

  • Parents Only

Care to live like a Lord or a Lady for the night? Airbnb is giving you the opportunity to live like a Crawley and stay in the castle where the show Downton Abbey was filmed.

Highclere Castle - the home of Downton Abbey - is now available for a once-in-a-lifetime stay. For one night only, you can sleep in one of the Castle’s iconic bedrooms and get the opportunity to live like the Lord or Lady of a stately home - check out the listing here.

To celebrate the new Downtown Abbey movie, Airbnb will pick two guests to stay in one of the house’s 300 rooms on 26 November and be “treated like royalty”. And yes, you'll get your own Carson-esque butler!

George Herbert, the 8th Earl of Carnavon, and his wife, Countess Fiona, live at the castle when it is not open to the public and for just £150 (around $275) you will join them for evening cocktails in the saloon followed by a traditional dinner in the state dining room. Whether Fiona is like a wise-cracking Maggie Smith, we can only hope...

The Royal Treatment

Highclere Castle lies close to the town of Newbury, just 50 miles from London within 1,000 acres of beautiful English parkland.

Reservations open on 1 October and you have to show you're a true Downton fan by submitting a creative application. Oh and you'd better have impeccably good reviews from previous Airbnb bookings - yes only kings and queens need apply....

If you miss out, don't despair, during the summer months, the castle opens its doors to about 1,200 visitors per day, five days a week for around $20pp.
