Situated on one of the most beautiful locations of the central coastline, Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific is the perfect place for a fun family getaway. At only 1.5 hours north of Sydney, you can leave behind the hustle and bustle of Sydney for the stunning beaches of NSW’s Central Coast.

When we arrived at Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific we were greeted by the super-friendly and helpful staff and given our room keys and self-parking ticket. The beauty of the included self-parking is that you can come and go as often as you like, giving you the freedom to be able to go and visit some of the wonderful attractions the Central Coast has to offer.

Our room was on the 6th floor of the hotel, on the opposite end of the hotel to the popular Florida Beach Bar. There was a function on during our stay and the staff thought we would be most comfortable with a room away from the celebrations, proving just how much care the Crowne Plaza staff have for the comfort and enjoyment of their guests.

The room was absolutely stunning, a suite with a bedroom and living area, the bedroom featuring a Queen Size bed for the adults, and a pull-out sofa bed for the kids (2 girls, aged 6 & 7). Our room also had a massive balcony with views overlooking Terrigal Beach which the girls thought was just the best! The bathroom also featured a huge spa-bath, another big plus for the kids!

After getting situated in our room we headed down to have a wander along the beach, and even at night in the middle of winter it was just lovely. When we checked in earlier, each of the kids were given their own beach pack which was filled with every kids’ beach essentials… buckets & spades for making sand castles, and a beach ball! They were also given V. I. K lanyards to denote their special status as Very Important Kids!

The lanyards were also the key to free kids meals in the hotel’s restaurant Sea Salt (kids eat free with a paying adult). The restaurant was beautiful, with views of Terrigal Beach and truly delicious food! The kids menu had a good selection of favourites, and included a drink and ice cream for dessert. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and the kids were entertained with fun activity books to work on while we waited for our food.

When our dessert came I was treated to a special surprise of a birthday candle and birthday message on my plate in chocolate, a lovely personal touch that was truly appreciated.

After dinner we headed back up to our room for a movie night! The Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific Family Getaway Package includes unlimited free kids movies from their in-house selection, and it was hard to choose what to watch first!

It was really lovely to snuggle up together on the bedroom’s Queen Bed and watch ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’, and afterwards two happy kids went off to their own bed feeling mighty happy with their getaway so far.

The next morning it was time to hit up Sea Salt restaurant again, this time for their famous buffet breakfast, which is also included as part of the Family Getaway Package. The food was delicious and the staff were well on the ball, clearing plates and bringing coffees direct to our table. The buffet breakfast has a really great selection of both hot and cold breakfast favourites, as well as a juice station so you can create your own fresh juice concoction. For the kids, watching the automatic pancake maker was the highlight of their morning!

After breakfast we headed back across the road to explore the beach some more, with the beach packs we’d been given, and we spent a lovely couple of hours enjoying the coastline, exploring the rocks, and of course building sandcastles. There was also free entertainment in the park beside the beach for the 5 Lands Coast Walk that was on during our stay.

The Terrigal Beach foreshore has heaps of cafes and restaurants that offer everything from Italian to Chinese to modern Australian food, and are open most days for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as takeaway coffees and meals. If you’re a bit of a foodie, you’ll be spoiled for choice between the fabulous hotel restaurant and the restaurants and cafes on the doorstep of the hotel.

At lunchtime we decided to head to The Chocolate Factory Gosford (a 20 minute drive away) to check out their sweet treats and have lunch in the cafe there. The food in the cafe was delicious, and it was more than a little hard to choose only a few sweet treats to buy in the massive chocolate shop. Unfortunately the day we were there no factory tours were running, but they do often run factory tours where you get to see them making their chocolate & nougat products, as well as a Junior Chocolate workshop for the kids which we’ll definitely be going back to do on our next visit to the Coast.

There are heaps of other family-friendly things to do and explore within a half hour of Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific, such as forest hikes, beach visits, pelican feeding at The Entrance, and attractions like the Australian Reptile Park and the Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park to visit.

All in all we had the most fabulous time on our Family Getaway to Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific. The hotel is just beautiful, so clean, the staff are so, so lovely and great with the kids, the food at Sea Salt was fabulous and the room was the perfect place to be able to relax and unwind and spend some quality family time together. We will definitely be back!
