One of our earliest memories is the Bertie Beetle Showbag and unpacking all the sugary goodness from the Ekka Show. You’ll be pleased to know, the iconic showbag is still going strong. Every kid walking through the showbag pavilion is in a state of pure joy, perusing the bags of goodness and making the difficult decision of which one to take home. Apart from the showbags, there is so much to do at the Ekka. Every animal lover will delight in the gorgeous creatures that call the Animal Pavilion home for the duration of the festival. There are a stack of shows and demonstrations, focussing heavily on agriculture, giving kids a great opportunity to learn more about such an important industry. Rides, fireworks, displays and entertainment til the cows come home (I’m sorry), the Ekka is the second-best time of the year – Santa still holds the top spot.
ellaslist opinion: Every foodie worth their salt has to carve out time in their day to head to the Woolworths Fresh Food Pavillion and delight in delicious food, demonstrations and of course, samples.
