Art Box For Kids

Art Box for Kids is an exciting new exhibition series designed to inspire young artists! Children will get to meet a featured artist through a fun introductory video, view one of their artworks on display, and dive into a hands-on activity that sparks creativity.

The first Art Box for Kids showcases Ngugi artist Elisa Jane Carmichael, who uses painting, weaving, and textiles to celebrate the beauty of nature and her family's deep connection to the land. In the activity "Shell Adornments," Elisa encourages kids to craft their own paper shell necklaces, inspired by the stunning eugarie shells (pipis) found on the shores of Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

This series also embraces sustainability by using recycled or repurposed materials wherever possible. This fun activity is in its final weeks, so don't miss out!
