If you’re big on the croissant scene (and let the minutes show, we are), Melbourne-born Lune Croissanterie is a household name.

Flaky deliciousness is the order of the day at Lune, since founder Kate Reid opened their first store in Elwood in 2012. The pastry giant has since prompted high praise from The New York Times (“the finest you will find anywhere in the world”), long lines at their Melbourne and Brisbane stores (with one heading Sydney-wards in 2023!) and now, a cookbook!

Filling a whopping 272 pages, LUNE: All Day, All Night is an extremely thorough guide to croissant creation so that you can replicate the Lune delights you know and love, from the comfort of your own home.

The tome features how to make the perfect dough, the layering and lamination process, and guides on how to create the perfect shapes for the items you’re making. Basically—it holds your hand through every element of the croissant-crafting process, and we reckon it might spark an obsession in households across the country. Think; lockdown sourdough starter with a sweet and unrestricted twist!

What to Expect

Amongst recipes for the standard suspects—danishes, croissants, pain au chocolat and the like, the book is brimming with plenty of playful Lune takes on the classics; we’re talking lemon curd cruffins, croissant croutons, birthday cake croissants and beyond.
