Wondering what’s open over the Easter long weekend in Brisbane? You’ll be pleased to hear that other than the usual Good Friday (19 April) closures, there are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shopping centres and grocery stores trading normal hours over the long weekend.

Grocery Stores

Looking for last minute Easter eggs or that special ingredient you left off your shopping list? Major grocery stores Coles and Woolworths are closed on Good Friday, but are open regular hours on Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Night Owl is closed on the public holidays – Good Friday and Easter Monday – but trading hours may differ between stores.

Bottle shops

You can forget about finding a bottle shop open in Brisbane on Good Friday, but rest assured most major bottle shops are open normal trading hours over the remainder of the long weekend. BWS, Dan Murphy’s and First Choice are all trading regular hours over Saturday, Sunday and Monday, but times may differ from store to store.

Pharmacies

It’s Murphy’s Law that someone in the family will get sick on a long weekend when it’s hard to pin down a doctor and you don’t know which pharmacies are open. The Chemist Warehouse and Terry White Chemists are open all weekend, including Good Friday. Trading times may differ between stores.

Westfield Shopping Centres

Feel like some retail therapy over the four-day weekend? Your local Westfield Shopping Centre is open from 9 am – 5pm on Saturday 20 April, 10 am – 5 pm on Easter Sunday 21 April and 10 am – 5 pm on Easter Monday 22 April (with some stores closing slightly earlier at 4 pm on Easter Monday).

Your local San Churro or Max Brenner is sure to give you a dose of chocolatey goodness, if the Easter bunny hasn’t already spoiled you.
