You can easily make a day of it at Broadwater Parklands at Southport. There is so much for kids to explore with several different playgrounds, rockpools, water fountains and a jumping pillow. There’s a beach to splash around in, plenty of grassed areas to throw down a picnic rug, electric barbeques, cafes, toilets and more. The only problem you’ll have is tearing your kids away at the end of the day!

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Get up close and personal with native Australian animals in Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s bushland setting. Kids will love to cuddle a koala or feed a kangaroo or two. The wild lorikeet feeding is a colourful, and noisy, display not to be missed. Live entertainment features sheep shearing and the free flight bird show.

Mt Tamborine Glow Worm Caves

For a unique activity on the coast, head up to Tamborine Mountain for a magical day out at the glow worm caves. This mesmerising underground adventure will captivate the kids as they see thousands of glow worms shine their light into the pitch-black purpose-built caves. The guided tour will fill the kids with fun glow worm facts they’ll be spouting for years to come.
