Review: Fish Kitchen At Dutton Park

  • Family

Fish Kitchen has been our local fish and chips joint for the past few years, and it's become a bit of an institution in our house. The dangerous thing about having such a great quality place (plaice??) around the corner is that you can start to take it for granted, but we haven't tired of it yet.

Although the fresh fish market that used to run out of here has closed, you can still buy your fresh seafood here from behind the counter. Follow the Fish Kitchen Facebook page to keep up with what's good this week, or get onto their mailing list and they'll keep you updated. The seafood is always incredible and the staff know what's what so they can offer expert advice.

Dining in is always fun, with the blackboard walls covered in fish jokes and puns (sometimes courtesy of my kids - those would be the worst ones). I find it hard to go past the fish tacos, but the salt and pepper squid and the fish pie are also excellent. Not to mention you can get a good quality grilled piece of fish with chips or a range of salads at a great price too.

Add to this the fact that kids' meals meals are free on Tuesdays and we are there pretty regularly. Just a warning though, the neighbourhood families love meeting here on a Tuesday evening so if you'd like to grab a table before 7pm, you're best off booking.

Where: 220 Annerley Road, Dutton Park

When: Tuesday - Sunday, 11am to 8:30pm
