ellaslist Reviews: Peppa Pig Invites you on the Ultimate Sydney Adventure

  • All Ages

When your child tells you that (and this is a direct quote), "today was the best day of my life", you know you've scored some major parenting brownie points. While it's tempting to steal all the credit and claim that I had everything to do with the best day in Mr Five-Year-Old's life, the Best Day in the World Award was a joint win between SEA Life Sydney Aquarium, WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, Sydney Tower Eye and Miss Peppa Pig.

Peppa Pig invited us along on her epic adventure at two of Sydney's most fabulous family attractions, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo, but we didn't stop there. Since it was the start of the school holidays, we decided that we would conquer three attractions in one and add Sydney Tower Eye into the mix. We couldn't have picked a better month to save money with a three-attraction pass as Sydney Tower Eye is putting on a funky retro event to complement our animal adventures.

Peppa Pig's Adventures in Sydney

Sea Life Sydney Aquarium
Preparing ourselves to go deep under the ocean into the Shark Valley.

Mr Five-Year-Old could not control his excitement when I told him that Peppa Pig is in town for the school holidays and visiting SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium no less! Before I'd had a minute to brush my teeth, he was waiting by the door in his whale-print shorts picked especially for the occasion. Mr Two-Year-Old was just excited to be going somewhere in the car.

Peppa Pig's Adventures in Sydney start at SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, where families get to see all of their favourite underwater critters. We've been visiting SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium for years, but every visit still feels like a brand-new adventure.

Our favourite animal experiences include the marine life of Sydney Harbour (it's the largest natural harbour in the world, don't forget!), Shark Valley, the colourful and playful penguins, Dugong Island, Discovery Rockpool and Night and Day on the Reef.

The adorable penguins are always happy to see us.

As much as we love to lose ourselves in the colourful underwater world of SEA LIFE, Peppa Pig was waiting! The kids got to see and snap photos with Peppa Pig herself at Dugong Island and visit interactive stations throughout the aquarium to find hidden seahorses, help the clownfish find its way home, and play Crabby Match at the Discovery Rockpool. The Discovery Rockpool is always a winner with the kids as you get to look at the colourful critters up close and even touch them!

We always save extra time to spend at the Discovery Rockpool.

Peppa Pig's Outback Adventure at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo

Peppa Pig Wild Life
Peppa Pig has prepared a special adventure for us.

Next up, we headed only a few steps next door to continue Peppa's adventure at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. Our first stop was to stick our heads inside the giant crocodile (is it only my crazy boys who always have to do this?!) before picking up our Peppa Pig Activity Book. Peppa Pig's Outback Adventure takes you on a trail of Australia's most beautiful native animals that call WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo home.

Did you notice the whale-print shorts?
WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo kangaroos
Visiting the Kangaroo Walkabout.

I'm always amazed by how WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo is located right in the heart of Sydney, yet you feel as though you are thousands of kilometres away in the heart of the Aussie Outback.

Following Peppa's Activity Book, we traversed the Muddy Puddles trail to spot all the items Peppa and her friends have bought with them to the outback. Once we'd matched all of Peppa's friends with the items at the Zoo (and said hello to our favourite animals!), we headed up to the Koala Rooftop to tell real-life Peppa Pig all about it.

Thank you for having us, Miss Peppa Pig!

Go Back to the 80s at Sydney Tower Eye

Sydney Tower Eye
Retro arcade games have taken over the Sydney Tower Eye's Observation Deck.

After waving farewell to Peppa Pig, it was onto the final destination of our three-attraction pass: Sydney Tower Eye. I didn't think it would be possible to top our animal adventures, but once Mr-Five-Year-Old spotted the epic arcade games at Sydney Tower Eye, I knew it was going to be tough to drag him away.

Retro arcade games have taken over Sydney Tower Eye's Observation Deck for the April school holidays to entertain kids and give parents all the nostalgic feels.

Ride the elevator 268 metres above the city, and you'll find yourself in 80s arcade heaven with Space Invaders, pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, foosball, twin car racers, PacMan, photo booths and more.

Sydney Tower Eye arcades
Even grumpy Mr-Two-Year-Old couldn't resist a ride on the bikes.

While the kids play to their heart's content, parents can enjoy the incredible panoramic views of Sydney from the Observation Deck, grab a snack from the on-site cafe, or act like kids yourself and go for a ride on the arcade games. We couldn't resist a snap in the photo booth before the drive home when both kids fell promptly to sleep after a big day in the city - thank you, Sydney!
