Get ready to indulge your sweet tooth as National Donut Day is rolling into Australia on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Celebrated annually on the first Friday of June, this drool-worthy day honours the iconic donut and its rich history, dating back to 1938 when The Salvation Army created the event to commemorate the "Donut Lassies" who served treats to soldiers during World War I. Who knew?!

Donut Deals Not to be Missed

This year, Aussies can look forward to a variety of delicious deals and events to celebrate National Donut Day.

Donut King is offering a free hot cinnamon donut to customers at participating stores nationwide, while supplies last.

Dandenong Market in Melbourne is celebrating with $1 hot jam donuts from the legendary Dandee Donuts truck, available from 7 am to 4 pm (or until sold out).

For an ultra-unique experience, Donut King and Ovolo Hotels have teamed up to create the "Hot Cinni Hotel" at Ovolo Sydney in Woolloomooloo. Two rooms have been transformed into cinnamon-scented suites, complete with donut-themed decor and complimentary hot cinnamon donuts delivered via a dedicated call-button service.

Bookings are available from June 6–9, with the first five guests securing a night's stay for the price of a single donut. Bookings go on sale on Thursday 29 May 2025!

So whether you're grabbing a free treat, enjoying a discounted delight, or immersing yourself in a donut-themed getaway, National Donut Day 2025 offers a sweet celebration for everyone. It's definitely the national celebration we didn't know we needed!
