Kookaburra Queen cruise

Take Dad for a buffet breakfast with an amazing view aboard the iconic Kookaburra Queen. Walkabout Creek for breakfast or lunch

Walkabout Creek's Fathers Day celebrations are legendary, and for good reason. Dad won't want for anything with this indulgent spread in rainforest surrounds on the edge of the D’Aguilar National Park. Enjoy the breakfast buffet at 8am for the early risers, or brunch o'clock - 10am. Tuck into all the classic buffet breakfast items you can think of, from bacon, hash browns, eggs and chipolatas to pastries, muffins and fresh fruit. Lunch will be Walkabout Creek's regular fabulous a la carte menu. Bookings for both are essential.

Victoria Park Fathers Day Feast

 You can always rely on Victoria Park to put on a great event for a special occasion, and Fathers Day is a special one here. This buffet lunch offers Dad (and you!) mouth-watering roasts and roast veggies from the carvery, gourmet salads, plus a range of other delicious dishes to choose from. Victoria Park is totally family friendly, and there will be a kids corner serving delicious eats designed to please young and fussy palates. Oh, and there's an ice cream station for the whole family to enjoy too. And if you're worried about your kids getting restless and bothering other diners, don't! There will be a giant games area and a face painter to keep everyone entertained so Dad can kick back and enjoy a well-earned pat on the back.

Boaters and Beers at Newstead House

 Is Dad a bit of a history buff (or does he like beer but you want to do something more high-brow than take him to the local)? Newstead House is celebrating its fifth annual Fathers Day Boaters and Beers celebration. There will be food trucks, cold beers from Newstead Brewing Co, heritage games on the lawn, and jazz musicians to keep you entertained. There will be some tables and chairs but they usually get snapped up early, so bring along a picnic blanket and find a spot in the sun to settle in for the afternoon. And don't forget your straw boater hat if you really want to look the part! Newstead House will also be open for self-guided tours, with up to two children entering free with each paying adult. Adult tickets are $12 each.

Fathers Day at the Regatta Hotel

It's hard to go past Fathers Day at Brisbane's iconic Regatta Hotel, with stunning views of the Brisbane River. Choose from breakfast or lunch, depending on how much rest Dad needs - but book ahead because this always books out. Breakfast will be a buffet overflowing with treats such as granola, fruit, artisan breads, pastries, muffins, smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, glazed ham, smoked salmon and eggs florentine. Cost for brekkie is $40 per adult; $20 per child; children under 5 eat free.

Lunch will be served from 12pm, with a generous spread offering a range of delicious eats including traditional lamb curry, grilled Barramundi, mussels with sweet chilli and lime, salt and pepper squid, roast pork and roast beef; with a fantastic selection of sides on offer from steamed seasonal veggies, roasted root vegetables, and potato gratin, to tabouli salad, Mediterranean pasta salad, and wild rice and chick pea salad. Tickets are $69 per person, $25 for children aged 6-12, while children 5 & under eat free.

Wynnum Manly Jazz Festival

What is it about Fathers Day and jazz? We don't know, but we can't fight it - it just fits. The Wynnum Manly Jazz Festival is a delightful way to spend the day with Dad – there’s delicious food, rides, activities for the kids and of course, amazing music. Pack yourselves a picnic (no glass allowed) or enjoy some of the great food and drinks on offer at the park. There will also be laughing clowns and other fun kids activities to ensure everyone is entertained on the day.
