It has been burning up the rumour mill for some time, but the news has finally been confirmed that one of America’s biggest and best burger joints will set up shop in Australia. Five Guys Burgers and Fries has a global, cult following and 1,500 worldwide locations, so we don’t know why it’s taken so long, but Aussies love a good burger and we can finally add this legendary juggernaut to the fray.

Location scouts for Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group, who scored the franchise, and also have several other big-name eateries under their belt including The Meat & Wine Co and Ribs & Burgers, are out in force looking for the perfect flagship shopfront to showcase the unique Five Guys concept.

Five Guys

The original Five Guys DIY burger starts with your chose of a Hamburger, Cheeseburger or Bacon Burger. Think of this as your blank canvas, then top it off with as many extras as you like! There is a stack of free toppings to choose including lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, onions and jalapeños plus relish, mustards and sauces. You can get creative with endless combinations, trying a new masterpiece every time!

They also do rustic, skin-on fries and handspun vanilla milkshakes with free add-ins like bacon, bananas, chocolate, Oreo, peanut butter and salted caramel.

It's a simple menu that offers up fresh, delicious goodness that hits the spot every time - and if you don’t believe us, take it from Barack Obama - it’s apparently his favourite joint.

The first Five Guys store is expected to swing open its doors in the Sydney CBD in early 2021. Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand to follow!
