New Coles Collectables Partnership Announced

It's no secret that supermarket collectables have become big news in recent years—from Coles Little Shop to Woolies Fix 'Ems and beyond.

They've become a bit of a highlight of our weekly family grocery adventures, haven't they? Well, prepare for a thrill as Coles unveils its latest collaboration, with none other than Pokémon!

Coles Collectables Collaboration with Pokémon

Starting next Wednesday, 7 February 2024, every customer will receive a complimentary Pokémon Coles Builder character with every $30 spent in one transaction, available at both Coles supermarkets and Coles Online. As an extra treat, bonus characters await those who purchase selected products from participating brands. Music to our collectable-loving ears!

Recyclable Collectables

Shoppers can choosee from a captivating array of 35 characters, featuring Pokémon favourites like Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur. These collectables are crafted from 100 per cent certified cardboard, responsibly sourced from managed forests, and recyclable once the playtime fun concludes. That's what we like to hear!

Coles also announced that from February 7, in tandem with its Pokémon collectables, it will also be launching its Builder Lunchbox Challenge to promote healthy eating in Aussie kids.

A Coles spokesperson said “We are launching the Coles Builders Lunchbox Challenge as part of a wider program to promote healthy eating for kids...With the help of a free challenge poster, kids will be encouraged to try more types of fruit and veg. For every piece of fruit or veg added to lunchboxes, kids can colour a star and be on their way to becoming a Lunchbox Master. (Does anyone know if qualified Lunchbox Masters pack their own school lunchboxes? Anyone? Asking for a friend...).

Last October, Coles celebrated a $9.2 billion first-quarter sales revenue, attributing part of this success to the popularity of their previous collectable campaigns. And after seeing our kids get riled up by the task of refining their collections—we can see why. Strap yourselves in for a Pokémon-filled shopping adventure, families!
