Voltaren City2Surf 2025 Sydney Road Closures: What You Need to Know

Early Voltaren City2Surf 2025 Sydney Road Closures include:

  • Roads near Hyde Park close from 3:30 am

  • City to Edgecliff closures begin at 6 am

  • From Double Bay to North Bondi, closures start at 7 am

  • Bondi Beach roads shut from 6 am, with some remaining closed until 4 pm

The following roads are the ones that will be directly impacted by the Voltaren City2Surf 2025.

  • Sydney CBD (3:30 am – 12 pm): Sections of College St, Macquarie St, Park St and St James Rd will be closed.

  • Woolloomooloo to Edgecliff (6 am – 12 pm): William St from Yurong St to New South Head Rd at Ocean Ave will be closed.

    • No access to the city via New South Head Rd west of Ocean St until 12 pm – use Oxford St as an alternative.

    • The Cross City Tunnel will be closed eastbound.

    • Access to the tunnel (westbound only) via McLachlan Ave at Rushcutters Bay is available.

    • No access to William St or the Cross City Tunnel westbound from the Eastern Distributor.

  • Double Bay to Rose Bay (7 am – 1 pm): New South Head Rd from Ocean Ave to Dover Rd will be closed.

  • Rose Bay to North Bondi (7 am – 2 pm):

    • New South Head Rd from Dover Rd to Old South Head Rd

    • Old South Head Rd from New South Head Rd to Oceanview Ave

    • Military Rd from Old South Head Rd to Blair St

  • Bondi Beach (6 am – 4 pm):

    • Campbell Pde from Hall St to Blair St closed from 6 am

    • Campbell Pde from Dudley St to Hall St and Lamrock Ave, plus parts of Wairoa Ave, Hastings Pde, and Wallis Pde, closed from 7 am.

    • Queen Elizabeth Drive will have restricted access from 1 am – 1 pm on Saturday, 9 Aug, then fully closed from 1 pm Saturday – 4 pm Sun.

  • Bondi Junction (9 am – 4 pm): Sections of Grafton St, Grosvenor St, and Oxford St will be closed

  • CBD roads begin reopening around 11:30 am

  • Eastern Suburbs roads reopen progressively between 1 pm and 4 pm

  • Bondi Junction has closures from 9 am to 4 pm, including parts of Oxford Street and Grafton Street

How to Get to the Voltaren City2Surf 2025

Leave the car at home! Special event clearways will be in force along the entire 14km course and nearby streets, meaning no parking and a high risk of towing. Check signs carefully and plan accordingly.

Extra trains and buses will run, especially to/from Bondi Junction. Footpaths and cycleways are open outside the event route.
