Thanks to the Council's "Let's All Play" strategy and the NSW Government's "Everyone Can Play" guidelines, improvements are on the horizon to make this popular playground even more accessible. In collaboration with the Friends of Cabarita Park and Wharf, plans have been drawn up to welcome even more families into the fold.

And the Winning Design is...

Cabarita Park Playground
The winning design of the new Cabarita Park Playground.

After consulting with the community this past June and July, two options were put forward: one, to replace all sand with a cushy rubber soft fall surface, or option two: to keep some sandy areas but increase the rubber coverage. The final plan? A blend that promises more accessibility, with parts of the sandy areas making way for rubber surfaces and some exciting new play features to boot.

Features of the revamp include:

  • new sand play activities: Bench and accessible digger
  • new Activities Tower with pommel crossing, rope climb, slide, ramp, and activity panel
  • upgraded tower with new posts, rails, and platforms
  • new rubber surfacing
  • 166 metres of safe sand softfall
  • sandstone block seating.

Get ready for a more inclusive, fun-filled spot that everyone in the community can enjoy!
