In 2018 the Inner West Council began a much needed major redevelopment of the Ashfield Aquatic Centre. It was a great pool before so we are expecting big things of the new centre which has just opened!

You'll now be able to dive into a brand new 50 metre outdoor pool with accessible ramp and pool divider.

There is also a new outdoor program pool with a movable floor that can change its depth up to 2.1 metres, a new children’s leisure pool, gym, cafe, crèche, sauna, steam and spa!

Part Of The Community

After 55 years in operation the much loved facility closed its doors early in 2018. It cost $44.7 million to build the new facility. And kids under 5 are free!

“People will be blown away by how beautiful the new pools, gym, spa and saunas are,” said Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne.

“After such a horrendous year this awesome new facility has opened just in time to give local residents and the people of Sydney a new outdoor, summertime destination.

“The rebuilding of the old Ashfield Pool is the largest community infrastructure project in our history, and we have now delivered multi-purpose aquatics and health and fitness facility that our community will enjoy for generations to come.

“Our new facility is unique with a state-of-the-art the movable floor and other features such as the pool boom ensuring there are options to provide a diverse range of programs at all times of operation."
