Best Places To Get Pancakes In Brisbane 2019
Shrove Tuesday – aka Pancake Day – is coming up, which is the excuse we’re parlaying into a day out eating dessert for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Honestly, when it comes to pancakes, you really can make them into any meal at all and we are there for all of it.
Whether you’re into thin crepes with a savoury filling, or fluffy buttermilk jobbies slathered in ice cream, we’ve got something for you here. But don’t make them yourself – there are plenty of fun venues around Brisbane that are making exceptional pancakes so all you have to do is constrain yourself long enough to share them on your Insta-feed then tuck in!
The Jam Pantry
This southside favourite has a range of fancy-pants options that change with the seasons, with some recent highlights including lemon thyme batter, strawberry and apple jam, nutmeg crème and oat crumble. Or how about sourdough and lemon zest batter with mango, sweet pickled watermelon and peach and strawberry dollop? There are even gluten-free options like polenta sourdough batter, pearl mango, dragonfruit, raspberries micro mint and pumpkin coconut ripple. For realsies – get yourself here asap.

This newcomer to Woolloongabba is nailing the pancake scene, with Nutella pancakes or a strawberry option complete with fluffy pink fairy floss – but with real fruit so it’s practically a salad. And it has a big outdoor seating area so the kids aren’t required to sit still. Dog-friendly too.

Where The Wolves Eat
Savoury pancakes loaded with cheese and spring onions, smothered in chipotle and bourbon maple syrup may not appeal to the children, but why does it have to be all about the kids? The menu varies here depending on what’s fresh and good, but you can rest assured there will be something delicious and unexpected on the go.

Did somebody say “all day brunch”? Little Clive is perfect for when you’ve got that pancake hankering at any time of the day. Think vanilla pancakes with blueberry compote, bacon, blueberry and thyme maple syrup. Think food coma happiness.

The Pancake Manor
An oldie but a goodie, the Pancake Manor has been serving up fun pancake treats – both sweet and savoury – since us parents were wee tackers. And they’re still magnificent. They’ve got a zillion different variations on the simple pancake – plus they cater for gluten-free and vegan requirements.

Pancakes On The Rocks
Okay, this one isn’t in Brisbane, but it is directly across the beach at Surfers Paradise, and we reckon that combo is worth a delightful half-day trip. Plus the kids can get fun themed pancakes such as a butterfly, funny face, or Alice in Wonderland.
