Aussie Destination Tops The List Of World❜s Most Instragrammed Road Trips!

The world's most Instagrammed road trips have been revealed and Australia takes out one of the top spots at number 2!

Families the world over continually seek out the best family road trip routes for family holidays and why wouldn't they? Loading up the car, cracking open the snacks and plugging in the road trip playlist while venturing to some of the world's best sites is one of the most exciting adventures you can have as a family.

Aside from exploring hidden terrain and experiencing new states and countries other than your own, ensuring your family's road trip looks sensational on the gram is, let's face it, one of the key elements of a successful family road trip in this day and age. In light of this, UK company Click4Reg collected 15 of the best road trips from around the world based on the number of hashtags these road trips amassed, and we're thrilled to discover that Australia's own Great Ocean Road topped the list at number 2!

Unsurprisingly, the number 1 spot was awarded to America's famous Route 66 with 1,708,620 hashtags followed by Victoria's stunning Great Ocean Road with 1,291,178 hashtags. Route 66 and the Great Ocean Road were the only road trips on the list of 15 to reach over 1 million hashtags! Snake Pass in England took out the last spot with only 12,343 hashtags, while Iceland's Ring Road received an admirable 154,230 hashtags. 

We can't say we're surprised that Victoria's Great Ocean Road took out one of the top spots. The 243-kilometre stretch of road that hugs the south-eastern coastline of Australia is World-Heritage listed and simply stunning to travel along. Taking in majestic landmarks, volcanic plains, rugged wilderness, secluded waterfalls, national parks, and the iconic 12 Apostles, the Great Ocean Road is a must-visit destination for all families looking to embark on one hell of a road trip!
