A Luxury Eco-Retreat Is Now Open At Taronga Zoo

Named The Wildlife Retreat, Taronga Zoo's new luxury eco-retreat is set to be Taronga's first permanent accommodation. Officialy opened in October 2019, Wildlife Retreat features 62 stunning (and sustainable!) suites that are built right into the wild slopes of the Australian Habitat complex. Designed exclusively for Taronga by Cox Architecture, these designer rooms will put visitors right in the thick of the Taronga wildlife for an unforgettable experience. The 5 suite styles include Bushland Rooms, Animal View Rooms, Harbour View Rooms, and Treetop Suites. Visitors can also enjoy fine-dining at Taronga's Me-Gal restaurant during their stay at Wildlife Retreat.

A stay at the uber-luxurious Wildlife Retreat costs $790 per couple per night and includes a two-course dinner at Me-Gal, buffet breakfast, personalised after-hours zoo tours, as well as access to the entire zoo during normal open hours. Not too shabby!
