5 Valentine❜s Day Dinners In Sydney That Won❜t Break The Bank

If you live in Sydney, you'll know it can be hard to find a restaurant which isn't charging $100+ per head for Valentine's Day. Good news is that we've done the research and have found five joints which won't be as heavy on your wallet - while still being somewhere special to go with your someone special! Get in fast to book though, the tables at these joints will book up fast!

1. Lox Stock & Barrel, Bondi

The best value set menu we could find for Valentine's Day, for only $45pp, each couple gets to share two entrees, two mains and a dessert. The New York deli-inspired restaurant has a 'farm to plate' ethos, with the Valentine's menu including dishes like Burrata with Stone Fruit, Heirloom Tomatoes and Vinaigrette for entree. There are four mains to choose from, including Octopus with Brussels Sprouts and Miso Butter, or if you're vegetarian, Slow Roast Eggplant with Quinoa, Spiced Nuts, Herbs and Haloumi.

For dessert, we'll have the Chocolate Fondant with Strawberry Sorbet and Creme Fraiche, please. The optional add-on of a Valentines Twist Sgroppino is only $8, and with lemon sorbet, a vodka shot and prosecco, it's the perfect palate cleanser. No BYO, but there's an optional 3-course wine match for $30 per person.

Lox Stock was recently renovated to accommodate more people, but the space isn't huge, so make your booking here stat!

2. Folonomo, Surry Hills

Share the love this Valentine's Day at this profit-for-purpose restaurant (Folonomo stands for 'For Love Not Money'), who is offering a Valentine's Banquet Degustation Menu for $85/head. From Charred Beetroot with Coconut Labne, Cherry Vinaigrette, Pea Leaf and Hemp Seed, to the Dry Aged Shortloin with Salsa Verde, Potato and Camembert Cream, meat eaters and vegetarians alike will be well fed here.

Leave some room for dessert - there'll be a Chocolate Ganache with Campari Granita, Marscapone and Rosemary, followed by a Mango Sorbet with Matcha and Coconut Flakes. We love the stripped back, industrial-feel interior here, and the super friendly service - the staff are working here because they care about the greater good, and you'll leave knowing that the meal was money well spent; choose which NFP organisation your meal will go towards with a 'ball in a jar' vote. Bookings are essential, click here to make one.

3. Jamie's Italian, Multiple Locations

Head to Jamie's in Parramatta or the CBD for the ultimate Valentine's feast at only $70pp. Start with the Classic Meat Plank with all the goods, followed by a main and dessert each. We're drooling over the Truffle Tagliattele, but if you're not a pasta person, there's the Cone Bay Barramundi, or the Rib of Beef. For dessert, we'll have the Epic Chocolate and Hazelnut Brownie...because what's Valentine's day without chocolate?! Click here to see the full menu and to make a reservation.

4. Cavallino, Terry Hills

A little piece of Italy tucked away in Northern Sydney, Cavallino is offering a 3-course Valentine's Day menu for $65 per person (vegan menu available too)/ And while you often associate Italian food with lots of wheat and dairy, there are plenty of gluten free and dairy options on the menu, along with plenty of carby goodness like the Homemade Fettucine with Mussels and Tomato Confit. Click here to make a reservation.

5. Queen Chow, Enmore

Because you can't go wrong with anything Merivale! Order off the à la carte menu, or go for The Rosé in Bloom Banquet at $55 a head, which will have you and your date dining on Cantonese dishes with an Aussie touch; think steamed dim sum, Queen Chow's Fried Rice with Cuttlefish, and for something lighter, the Steamed Market Fish Fillet with Ginger, Shallot and White Soy. You know how busy the Merivale joints can get, so click here to grab a table.

Happy Valentine's Day from ellaslist!
